He Taught Them Many Things in Parables
February 2017
Jesus taught many things in parables, knowing that they would help people to grasp the deep truths of God's kingdom, enabling them to understand that life in God is not a concept, but a living, life-changing reality. David explores how the parables of life reveal the reality of Christ each day.
Be Constant in Prayer

David Gleaves, February 5th

Leston Blackburn, February 12th

In Romans 12:9-20, Paul highlights several qualities and characteristics that mark the life of the true Christian. Interesitngly, he lists one of these as learning to be constant in prayer. Leston takes a moment to examine what this looks like and why it is such a vital part of the Christian life.
All that Jesus Began to Do and Teach

Leston Blackburn, February 19th

Wayne O' Leary (Slavic Gospel Association), February 26th

Leston takes a fresh look at Acts 1:1. Reflecting on what the author of Acts says about the previous book he had written to Theophilus (and what it covered), we consider that this was just the beginning of the ministry of Jesus, and that He intends to continue His ministry of making disciples through His Church; you and me! We explore what this looks like and what making disciples ultimately means.
Guest Speaker: Wayne O' Leary
On Sunday we hosted Wayne O’ Leary who is part of the Slavic Gospel Association, responsible for training church leaders in the former Eastern-block countries. Wayne brought an update about the very exciting things the Lord is doing in places like Romania, including a testimony about a church plant that had taken place among a very poor community living on a rubbish dump. The transformation in their lives as they heard and responded to the gospel has in turn had a great impact on the surrounding community. Wayne then shared some thoughts from Psalm 37.
